Blinkist Spaces is a way to organize and curate your favorite titles, whether for yourself or with others. A Space can be for a topic like Productivity or Mindfulness, or shared and dedicated to a group's interest, like a book club or a parents group. You can create as many Spaces as you’d like, only private for you, or with other people.
When you create a Space, you can easily add or remove titles, notes, and members.
In a Space, Blinkist paid members can both give and receive recommendations to all members in that Space, as well as add new members to a Space, or remove them. Blinkist Basic members of a Space can read or listen to the titles recommended by users with a paid subscription—even if the title is normally only accessible to paid members.
Does it cost me or the person I invite to a Space?
No. Inviting someone to a space is free. Blinkist Basic members, or even those who are not yet Blinkist members, can still be invited to and participate in a Space.
Who should I invite to a Space?
Blinkist Spaces members tell us they like inviting a partner, family members, friends, or colleagues. We recommend someone with whom you can exchange ideas, share your perspectives, and talk about what you’ve learned.
Please note: if you have a Blinkist Business account, you can only invite colleagues within your organisation to a Space. You won't be able to invite someone with a personal subscription like your family of friends. This is meant to protect the security and data of your and other Blinkist Business customers.
Does the other person have to already have a Blinkist account to use Spaces?
No they don’t. You can invite them to your Space, and they’ll be able to sign up for a Blinkist account of their own to join the Space.
If you have a Blinkist Business account: anyone within your organization can invite or join a Space created by another colleague within your organization, they can simply create an account upon creating/joining a Space if they haven’t already. You won't be able to invite someone with a personal subscription to a Space you created with your Blinkist Business account.
Do the other people in my Spaces have access to my library and activity (and viceversa)?
No, they don’t. You’re in full control; only titles you actively recommend to them or are recommended to you in a Space will be seen by the other people there. You can also create a Space for just yourself, without inviting anyone to it.
Please note
Spaces is available on iOS devices with the Blinkist app version 8.0.0 or above, and on Android devices with the app version 10.0.0 or above. If you're using an older version of the app, make sure to update to the latest one.
Space is currently only available on our mobile app, not on our website.
