We'll discontinue offering support for the Blinkist app on iOS devices running iOS 16 & 17 with the next release (version 11.0.0). This means that users with the iOS 16 & 17 version on their iOS device won't be able to update to Blinkist app versions higher than version 10.20.0.
Why?
With new devices coming out each year, sometimes it can be hard to keep up with the speed at which technology advances. In order to provide our iOS users with the best Blinkist app experience, we've decided to stop supporting iOS 16 & 17. We'll no longer be able to fix any issues that are reported on iOS devices running iOS 16 & 17.
Anything you need to do?
We advise our iOS users running iOS iOS 16 & 17 to upgrade to a higher iOS version, ideally the latest version. By doing this you'll gain access to all the latest updates and features - giving you the best experience of the Blinkist app!
What's the new minimum supported iOS mobile devices?
The minimum requirement for iOS devices supported by the Blinkist app is iOS version 18.0 or later.
This means, the following devices won’t be supported anymore:
iPhone X
iPhone 8
iPhone 8 Plus
What if your device doesn't support iOS 18?
There won't be an immediate effect for you on the iOS 16 & 17 versions, however we recommend upgrading to a newer version of the iOS operating system.
If your device doesn't support any of the new iOS versions, you should know that:
New features will not be supported on devices running iOS 16 & 17.
With iOS 16 & 17 you'll still be able to use and download the Blinkist app version 10.20.0 - however, we will eventually drop support for it.
