How do I cancel my subscription or free trial?

Subscribed through the website?

You can cancel your trial or deactivate the automatic renewal for your subscription in your account settings.

Keep in mind:

  • If you don't see the option to cancel your subscription, you might be logged into a Basic account. Please try to log out and log in again, using the email address attached to your subscription.

  • If you were invited by someone to join their subscription with "Premium Sharing", or if you joined Blinkist as a company benefit, you won't see the option to cancel your subscription: you are using the subscription at no cost to you, and there will be no need for you to cancel.

Subscribed in the App-Store?

The cancellation process for In-App purchases is managed entirely by the respective App Store. You can cancel the subscription through your Apple/iTunes or Google Play settings.

Please note:
Google Play payments can come with a pre-authorization charge 24 hours in advance: this is only a temporary "hold" on the funds to check that the account is chargeable. As long as you cancel the trial or the subscription before the time mentioned above the charge will not go through.
However, even after you cancel, it may take up to 14 business days for the pre-authorization to be removed via Google. You can find more information about pre-authorizations here: Google Play Help: Fees, charges & authorizations.
